Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cups Macadamia Nuts, roughly chopped
- 1 Cup Granulated White Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Water
- 1/4 Cup Corn Syrup (Glucose Syrup)
- 1 Tablespoon Unsalted Butter
- 1/4 Tablespoon Baking Soda
- Pinch of Sea Salt
- Butter for the Baking Sheet
How To
Step 1: Prepare a large baking sheet by greasing it with butter. Set aside.
Step 2: In a large nonstick saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar has dissolved and until golden brown.
Step 3: Add the nuts to the mixture and stir until medium brown. Remove from heat and stir in the butter and baking soda.
Step 4: Pour the hot mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Using a greased spatula or the back of a spoon, spread it out into an even layer, about ¼-inch thick.
Step 5: Allow the brittle to cool completely at room temperature until hardened and firm.
Step 6: Once cooled, break the brittle into small, bite-sized pieces using your hands or by gently tapping it with a kitchen mallet.
Step 7: Store the macadamia nut brittle in an airtight container at room temperature. It can last for several weeks if stored properly.
